On Thursday my mom drove me two hours to a cave in Virginia called Shenandoah Caverns. Its a huge underground cave with ginormous rocks and beautiful underground lakes! When we got there we had a little of time so we looked around the gift shop. It was amazing! There were geodes and stones cut into heats and all kind of stuff. There was even old currency! You couldn’t use it now, but its still really cool to see. My mom got some, and I’m gonna bring some in to show my humanities(vocabulary, social studies, history, and reading combined) teacher because she would love stuff like that!
When the tour finally began, we went down an elevator 60 feet, and in the cave there were amazing stalagmites and stalagmites. There were no gems in the cave, but it was still beautiful. Certain sections had rainbow lights on them, and when the light reflected off of them, they were beautiful! The most beautiful thing though was the Rainbow Lake. It was an underground lake that had stalagmites hanging from the top and had rainbow lights on it. The water reflected the top of the cave so it looked deep, but it was only about three centimeters deep.
The worst part about the trip was the fact that I got mud all over my boots. The mud has dried and I still haven’t washed them all. I have to do that soon or else I’ll never where them again! Just kidding I could never abandon my boots. š Anyway I hope you guys had a good weekend. And if you didn’t know, I was on winter break this past week, so that’s why I had the time to go out and things like that. See you next week! Pictures in next blog. š
Cool story…
